Jinotepe is a Nicaraguan city, capital of the department of Carazo. It was founded on February 11, 1883. In the year 2005, it had a population of 29 500 inhabitants. Its territorial extension is of 292 square kilometers. JINOTEPE, comes from the voices Nahualt Xilotl and Tepetl, which means "hill of the Winds, villages of Chilotes"

The city's economy is based on agriculture, mainly in the cultivation of coffee. Among its most important monuments in the parish church of Santiago, whose construction dates from the year 1860.

This municipality is managed by the dynamic city of Jinotepe, which has an attractive center neocolonial in addition to various establishments of services such as hotels, restaurants, bars and a discotheque. It possesses extensive beaches on its coasts in the Pacific, in addition to an amusement park very visited.
